Latha Dombro

Program Specialist

Latha Dombro is the program specialist for the MEM Program at NC State University. She joined in fall 2022, bringing extensive student services experience from NC Central University, where she cared for over 1,500 students. Moreover, her passion for helping students helps MEM students achieve their goals and go further than they imagined.

Originally from the Northeastern US, Dombro wanted a change. Therefore, she moved to Raleigh for warmer weather and milder winters. Choosing NC State felt right and fit perfectly into the “puzzle of life” she was putting together. Furthermore, she has lived in many different places, including New Zealand for a year and on a sailboat for another year. Despite the challenges of moving halfway across the country, Dombro embraced the adventure. Consequently, she has found a new home at NC State and continues to support students in their educational journey.

How I Can Help You?

The MEM leadership team’s number one responsibility is to support you, their students, in achieving your goals. They prioritize creating a positive learning environment and providing valuable resources to ensure your success. Latha Dombro can help with:

  • Getting access to the building, classrooms and labs equipped with access card readers (Building/Lab Keycard Access Request Form)
  • Handling building security, problems with lighting, air conditioning, minor and non-minor issues (NC State Facilities: 919.515.2991)
  • Answering questions about professional development
  • Scheduling courses
  • Requesting exams, the graduation process, processing forms, leaves-of-absence and assistantship pay
  • Answering MEM fellowship questions
  • Navigating the teaching and research assistantship hiring process
  • Resolving bi-weekly payroll issues
  • Filing travel authorizations and reimbursements
