Ardra Premkumar is currently in the final semester of her MEM journey. She is an intern at Red Hat, working as a business analyst for their Ecosystem Development Organization. Throughout her professional journey, she has played varied roles, from software development to business analysis and project management, where she has analyzed different projects for improvements for the end-users and formulated action plans for executing them. As an aspiring product manager, she envisions leading the development of self-designed products.
According to Premkumar, in addition to acquiring technical skills, engineers are expected to have a holistic view of the product and its impact on the end user. She believes her graduate education in MEM at NC State will help her bridge the gaps in her profile and provide her with a holistic understanding of product lifecycle, project management, business fundamentals, and data analysis while also building soft skills like communication and emotional intelligence, and leadership.
