Meet a MEMtor

The MEM Mentoring Program connects older students (MEMtors) with new ones to offer advice and support. MEMtors help new students with their studies, getting used to the program, and reaching their goals. This program creates a friendly and helpful learning environment for everyone.

MEMtor Tarun Asrani

Tarun Asrani is an engineering management graduate student with a knack for forging meaningful connections wherever he goes. 

His diverse background across IT/NBFC, construction and pharmaceutical industries has shaped his unique approach to problem-solving, while Asrani’s passion for gaming has sharpened his strategic thinking. 

Asrani combines quiet confidence with a proactive mindset – he may not have all the answers, but he’ll always find a way to figure things out.

Jatin Chaudhari

MEMtor Jatin Tushar Chaudhari believes in being a “Jack of all trades, master of none; Still better than the master of one.” Creative problem-solving and efficient idea implementation passionately mark his journey. Getting better at translating concepts into action, Chaudhari thrives on clear and persuasive communication to bridge the gap between vision and reality. Driven to leave a lasting mark, he views personal and professional growth as a continuous journey of sharpening his skills, aiming to contribute meaningfully to the world. Chaudhari has worked as a MEM Ambassador and EMGSA President and has interned at Silicon Ranch Corporation as a Business Operations and Technology Intern since last summer.

MEMtor Mrugank Joshi

Mrugank Joshi is pursuing a Master of Engineering Management, focusing on supply chain management. With a background in mechanical engineering, he has developed a strong foundation in technical principles and problem-solving. Currently, Joshi is working with Hitachi Energy as a supplier sustainability and project management intern, handling supplier compliance with sustainability regulations and managing project execution for a new product launch. His earlier internship with the same company was focused on supplier development and optimization of the supplier qualification process, further enhancing his expertise in supply chain management.

Joshi has also worked as a Capacity Planning Intern at Alfa Laval, gaining hands-on exposure to industrial engineering and inbound supply chain management. His experience as an SAP Consultant at Accenture and his familiarity with ERP systems and data analytics position him as a techno-functional professional in the supply chain arena. Outside of his professional and academic pursuits, Joshi enjoys photography and traveling, which allow him to explore new perspectives and cultures.

Tanvi Pongde

MEMtor Tanvi Pongde is an engineering management graduate student passionate about combining technical expertise with management skills. she loves learning and exploring new domains, and pursuing engineering management has been a game-changer for her. It’s made Pongde more versatile and opened up exciting new opportunities.

From working as a quality assurance project manager at Reliance Jio to interning as a project engineer at Hitachi Energy and currently as a procurement buying intern, Pongde has had the chance to experience different industries, domains, management styles and work cultures. These experiences have enhanced her problem-solving skills and given her a unique perspective on leadership and collaboration.

With a strong project and supply chain management foundation, Pongde is always happy to share career advice, brainstorm solutions, or simply lend a listening ear. She is ready to connect, learn and grow together.

MEMtor Sanjana Rao

From pretending to be the manager of her imaginary salon to organizing and leading neighborhood plays, Sanjana Rao has always had a passion for managing and leading people. Her experience as a business functional and change management analyst further emphasized the importance of translating technology into the language of business. Pursuing a Master’s in Engineering Management has been Rao’s guiding star. After navigating this course for a year, she is eager to join you as a fellow mariner on this journey.

Uttej Kumar Tentu

Memtor Uttej Kumar Tentu is a research associate at the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research at NC State University. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and is pursuing his Master’s in Engineering Management. Before joining the Belk Center, Tentu was a junior project manager at a market research firm, where he gained valuable experience in project management and data analysis.

When Tentu is not immersed in research or studying, he is passionate about fitness and staying active. Whether a workout session or a hike, he enjoys finding ways to keep moving. Tentu also loves traveling and exploring new places, which keeps life exciting and full of new experiences. If there’s anything he can help with, whether it’s related to work or just some friendly advice, he is always happy to lend a hand.
