Curriculum
In the on-campus program, the core curriculum begins with:
- Decision Science (3 credits) – ISE 501 Introduction to Operations Research
To meet your 15-credit requirement, you then choose one course from each of the following four themes:
- Quantitative literacy (3 credits)
- Organizational communication and leadership (3 credits)
- Project management (3 credits)
- Financial aptitude (3 credits)

Statistics Requirements
The following courses are offered by the Statistics Department as options for the MEM program:
- ST 513 Statistics for Management I
- ST 515 Experimental Statistics for Engineers
- ST 516 Experimental Statistics for Engineers II
- ST 517 Applied Statistical Methods I
- ST 518 Applied Statistical Methods II
Among these courses, ST 516 and ST 517 have prerequisites. Often, ST 516’s prerequisite of ST 515 is frequently waived, especially for students who have taken an undergraduate probability and statistics course. As for ST 517, the only prerequisite is the undergraduate MA 241 Calculus II or its equivalent. The other courses simply require graduate standing.
