MEM on the Streets

Since its start in 2012, NC State’s Packapalooza™ has become one of the most significant and anticipated Wolfpack Welcome Week events. The street fair draws in many community members, including students, alums and neighbors from around the Triangle. It allows various student organizations, clubs and small businesses to market themselves and their passions. This year at Packapalooza™, MEM grad students did just that. Located at a booth on Hillsborough Street, the group offered brochures, MEM swag, and information about the program to passersby, teaching them about the benefits of a graduate degree in engineering management.

From information on the MEM program’s eight concentrations, including the popular Build-Your-Own option, to different ways someone can earn a MEM degree, the students showed off the flexibility and accessibility of the degree. Packapalooza™ was the perfect place to market the program because the attendees are a blend of potential and current students and alumni. Due to its flexibility, the MEM program isn’t just for students going to grad school; it is also a resource for working professionals to further their education in business and engineering.

Through their efforts to expand the MEM program, the students did an excellent job demonstrating the program’s slogan: Think and Lead.
