The Build Your Own Concentration caters to professionals like you who want a unique set of engineering and management skills to achieve their career goals and shape their futures.

This concentration is fully customizable, allowing you to pick your unique blend of engineering and management courses that best serve your professional goals. Working closely with faculty advisors, you will chart your own course.

Through courses led by top faculty members at the Colleges of Engineering, Management and Science, you will cover topics in health systems performance, data mining or supply chain management while focusing on the foundations of analytics from a technical engineering perspective.

2 This concentration provides a high degree of customization and personalization based on student interests and industry changes. This concentration will be approved for students who have identified a set of four engineering and/or management 500-level or above courses to complete their MEM degree for a total of 12 credit hours. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure they have met the course prerequisites. Ph.D. or 700-level courses may count as exceptions on a case-by-case basis as approved by the MEM director of graduate programs (DGP). As previously stated, the concentration requires a practicum. The MEM DGP may approve a student in this concentration to take one of the other MEM-approved practicum courses on a case-by-case basis.

Student Responsibilities:
Identify engineering and/or management 500-level elective courses. Verify they possess the required prerequisites or background knowledge. Submit courses for approval to MEM DGP.
